HERE’S WHAT OUR STUDENTS SAY ABOUT THE EXCHANGE:

MICHAEL JANOWSKI (now in class II A):

Student exchange was very interesting. I met new friends. We didn’t have lessons but we learned a lot about Texas from our American guests. It was a great experience. I improved my language skills.

We also had a few adventures, for example during Strzelce Opolskie Days Ian, Travis and Cameron got lost in the park. We were worried and after a long search we found them. We laughed about it afterwards.

MICHAŁ MAJEWSKI (now in class II A):

During the exchange I got to know many interesting people, especially Cameron, Ian, Travis and Emily. The exchange gave me also a possibility of talking in English with friends from Texas. We toured Poland with them and played a lot of sports.  I would like to repeat this experience once again.

INTERNATIONAL SKIRT DAY 30TH OCTOBER 2009.

KAROLINA LECHOWICZ, CLASS II A:

In our school we celebrated international skirt day. It was a very amusing day. The boys dresses up as girls and some of them even looked like Pamela Anderson. My friend dressed up in a skirt and wore make up and he looked very funny. The idea behind this event was for the boys to feel like girls for a change.

HALLOWEEN CELEBRATIONS IN OUR SCHOOL 30TH OCTOBER 2009.

MARLENA FURMANIAK, KAROLINA LECHOWICZ, WOJCIECH KOZŁOWSKI, MICHAEL JANOWSKI, MICHAŁ MAJEWSKI, CLASS II A:

Halloween in Poland has been celebrated for 10 or 15 years. It has not any origins in our culture although a lot of young people dress up and visit their neighbours. They say “Trick or Treat”, then people give them sweets. If they don’t get any sweets, they play jokes. For example, once they put a lot of toilet paper on our friend’s fence when he wasn’t at home.

It’s now a tradition in Poland but many claim that we shouldn’t celebrate a pagan holiday.

We think it is great fun. We decorate our classrooms and have a competition. We also dress up as witches, vampires and monsters. Some students wear  very scary make up. Sometimes even the teachers dress up and join in the fun!
